Frequently Asked Qustions

Lip cosmetic tattoo: Is it painful?
Most of our clients find the lip tattoo treatment manageable. However, it's important to remember that pain tolerance varies greatly. Some clients even doze off during the session, while others find it more sensitive. To ensure your comfort, we apply a strong medical-grade numbing cream to your lips before the session begins. We may also apply a second anesthetic after one or two passes with the pigment to keep you comfortable and pain-free throughout the procedure.
How to choose the pigment for your lip tattoo?
During your initial consultation (which you can book separately or on the same day as your treatment), Dasha will help you choose the perfect color to complement your natural lip pigmentation. Looking for a subtle result? Dasha can use pigments close to your natural lip color, creating a barely-there enhancement. Want a bolder look? Brighter shades can be used to achieve a "lipstick effect." For the lip outline, Dasha will recommend a pigment that seamlessly blends with your natural lip color. Remember, it's always safer to start with a slightly lighter shade. We can deepen the color during your follow-up session, if desired.
Aftercare for Lip Cosmetic Tattoo
The first 12 hours after your lip tattoo service, gently wipe your lips with water to remove any plasma your skin may produce. This helps prevent flaking during healing. Dasha will recommend a specific aftercare balm for you to use. Expect your lips to feel quite dry for the first 4 days after the treatment. Apply the ointment generously as needed. For the first two days, your lips may appear like you're wearing bright lipstick. On day 3, peeling may start. This flaking is subtle and not very noticeable, so no need to hide! By the end of day 4, the flaking should be gone, and your lips will show a beautiful, soft shade. The color of your lips will gradually change over the first 4 weeks as your skin heals (which takes 4-5 weeks). In 4 weeks, we'll meet for a follow-up session to make any adjustments you desire.
Can Lip Blush or Lip Outline Cosmetic Tattoo make my lips look bigger?
Absolutely! By strategically placing pigment along your lip line, Dasha can create an optical illusion of fuller lips. However, it's important to understand that pigment cannot be placed on the skin above the natural lip line (vermilion border) as this wouldn't achieve a natural look.
Does lip tattoo hurt as much as lip filler?
No, lip blush tattoo is generally not as painful as lip filler treatment. While both procedures involve some level of discomfort, lip fillers typically involve injections that can cause more intense and localized pain. Lip blush tattoo, on the other hand, uses a tattoo device that deposits pigment into the upper layer of the skin, which some people find more tolerable.
Lip Cosmetic Tattoo and Cold Sores
If you experience a cold sore on your lips before a lip blush treatment, taking an antiviral medication like Aciclovir or Zovirax can help prevent an outbreak. However, if you do develop a cold sore after the treatment, it's likely to appear around day 3 or 4, but it typically won't be as severe as usual.
When can I apply lipstick after Lip Blush Tattoo?
You can safely apply lipstick again 2 weeks after your Lip Blush tattoo treatment. It's crucial to allow your lips sufficient time to heal before introducing any chemicals or potential irritants to the treated area.
